Adding Components to a PD Application
Navigate to PD Applications -> Protected Data Applications and click the link for PD Application profile that you'd like to add components to.
For each component that you select or manually enter, you must choose a Scope:
|Institutional Device||Use this Scope for servers, credential stores, and other large data stores of Protected Data.|
Privileged Access Device
|Use this Scope for devices where credentials are entered in order to gain privileged access (root, Administrator, database admin, etc.) to Institutional Devices handling Protected Data. Usually this Scope is specified for administrative endpoints or management devices.|
Add a PD Service
Select an existing PD Service from the dropdown menu. The PD Service Scope is determined by the PD Service owner. Typically, PD Services will be IST or other centralized IT services already available for you to choose from.
Add a Subnet
Select a Subnet from the dropdown menu, and specify the Scope. NOTE: Use Institutional Device as the Scope for a Subnet unless all devices on the Subnet are Privileged Access Devices.
Add an IP Address
Enter an IP address, and specify the Scope.
Add an Offsite Hostname
Select an Offsite Hostname from the dropdown menu, and specify the Scope.
Add a Device (MAC Address)
Enter a MAC Address for the Device you're adding, and specify the Scope.
