We have received several reports of a fake email spoofed to look like it is coming from a campus department requesting your CalNet login to 'fix' problems with your campus ID. It could have any of these subject lines, but they may change:
Update on Oct. 20 - New Subject lines include:
- Announcement on your portal
- Warning on your portal
- Message regarding your portal
Problem with your portal
In addition to the original subject lines of:
- Issue on your student ID
- issue with your associate ID
- issue with ѕtudеnt ID
- Isѕue on your ID
- Error on your ID
- Error on lD
Example of the Message:
What makes this a Phish?
- The sender is not an official campus department, but from another higher-ed .edu institution.
- The link goes to a Google site - not an official UC Berkeley URL.
- Threatens that you won't receive any email.
