Problems with your ID - Phishing Email

We have received several reports of a fake email spoofed to look like it is coming from a campus department requesting your CalNet login to 'fix' problems with your campus ID. It could have any of these subject lines, but they may change:

  • Issue on your student ID
  • issue with your associate ID
  • issue with ѕtudеnt ID
  • Isѕue on your ID
  • Error on your ID
  • Error on lD

What makes this a Phish?

  1. The sender is not an official campus department, but from another higher-ed .edu institution. 
  2. The link goes to a Google site - not an official UC Berkeley URL.
  3. Threatens that you won't receive any email.
