Berkeley Identity and Access Management Program

Overview

The Berkeley Identity and Access Management Program aims to enhance the management of digital identities and access to our systems and data. Our goals are to strengthen security measures across campus, ensure that sensitive information and assets are protected, meet regulatory requirements, and adhere to industry best practices.

We are streamlining our operational processes to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness, thereby creating a safer and more productive environment for all stakeholders.

  • Stronger Security: Better protection against cyber threats like data breaches and ransomware.
  • Streamlined Access: Ensuring the right people have access to the right resources, easily and securely.
  • Reduced Risk: Minimizing vulnerabilities by centralizing and automating access controls, especially for privileged accounts.
  • Improved Efficiency: Automating tasks to save time and reduce errors.

Program Timeline

Improving identity and access involves coordinating several projects, carefully considering project dependencies, and sequencing rollout to minimize disruption to the campus community. Phase one of this program is slated to last 24 months.
